Bio
Originally from Austin, Texas, Clory Martin is a singer songwriter based out of Houston, Texas. Clory’s simple chord progressions paired with her strong alto vocals culminate into an indie-folk acoustic sound with a bluesy feel to it. Her debut album, “Summer Spent” was released in December 2010.
Clory grew up singing in choral groups and playing piano, but later, in search of developing a more intimate relationship with music, she picked up a guitar. After several years of late night sing-a-longs with friends, open mics and jam sessions, Clory began writing her own songs. Her originals are passionate and often take on a sad or mellow tone, even when about light-hearted topics. She cites her strongest musical influences as: Bob Dylan, Cat Power, Ray Lamontagne and Neutral Milk Hotel.
“I play music in order to interact and connect with others. It’s about sharing and being truly present.” -Clory
